What's in a Name?

Ok, so apparently my name is freaking hard to spell. My name is BRUNNEGRAFF not BRUNNEGRATT or BRUNEGRAT or BRUNEEGRAF or BRUNNEGRASS or BRUNNEGRAPH

It is pronounced BUH-RUN-EH-GRAPH

I've had a few e-mails in the last few days from people trying to find my art online complaining about how hard it was to find me because they saw my work at a gallery and loved my work and can't find me.

I feel that this is a big problem, it's keeping me from getting more work, which I am always looking for and *hint hint* I'm open for commissions. I've addressed this issue several times to no avail and I am posting this journal so that if you were trying to find me and couldn't before now you can.

My last name was Stiefermann until I got married... nobody could pronounce it and no one even bothered to try spelling it.

Anyway I have sympathy for you because I know how frustrating it gets

my last name is Ny, pronounced knee but since i'm asian people automatically think it's spelt Ng?! or pronounce it like nigh! Grr

Bwahaha. Live with it former Orr! I ish a Wittlieff and have suffered the abuse all my life and it will only get darker the day I become a Brunnegraff! Vengeance will be mine.

It only bothers me because it keeps people from finding my art for commissions online. If it happened anywhere else I wouldn't care at all. You misunderstand my frustration. This is money frustration more than anything.

Basically it keeps me from doing my job, art, and that's a big big no no.

Oh, important documents get F-ed up on my end like every time and I have to go back and fix it (As if doing it in the first place was not a pain). Let's see. My drivers license, my checking and savings. Fasfa crap and other such college documentation, oh and my degree that I am going to get in 2 months. Really people need to know how to transfer crap properly.

Pronunciation doesn't bother me so much as the spelling. The spelling messes things up for me royally.

Yeah, I understand why that would be a big problem for someone selling art! Hmm have you thought about putting misspellings of your last name in the keywords or tags where you put your work on the web? I mean they'll still get your name wrong but they might end up where your art is.

My last name is incredibly simple (Bock), but people still spell it as Book, Bach, Brock, etc. @_@
